Disarmament and International Security Committee
The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is tasked with addressing some of the most pressing global security challenges of the modern era. This year, delegates will grapple with two rapidly evolving issues with profound implications - 1) the militarization of space and 2) the proliferation of drones and autonomous lethal weapons. As space technology becomes increasingly integrated into military operations, questions surrounding the weaponization of outer space, international treaties, and private sector involvement demand urgent discussion.
Simultaneously, the expansion of drone warfare, from reconnaissance missions to fully autonomous strike systems, raises concerns about ethical warfare, international regulation, and the role of non-state actors. Throughout the conference, delegates will engage in rigorous debate, navigating the complexities of these issues to craft innovative and pragmatic solutions that uphold international security and stability in an evolving technological global context.
